Sounds like you have more of a problem with the idea of Mega Evolutions.

I think it adds a twist onto things. Also it firms up what the final stage in a Evo line will be (we can assume)

Torkoal is already great defensively. It's dream world ability which negates crits makes it pretty awesome.

I use one on my monofire team because it's the only fire type that knows rapid spin. It could go ahead and get a mega evolution, I guess, but keep its dream world ability.

I think Mega Evolutions are a great idea for Pokemon that are already at the third stage evolution. One stage Pokemon could've just gotten normal evolutions.

It also means you can only have one of these pokemon in your party. So say I wanted to use both Torkoal and Mawile. In the mega evolution scenario I'd only to get to use one of their evolutions. That's bullshit. This is why mega evolutions are shit.

I want a regular evolution for Torkoal. Not everything needs a mega evolution just because it's the new gimmick. You have to remember only one mega evolution can be used per battle and it starts becoming detrimental if they start overusing mega evolutions where they aren't needed because you can't use multiples on the same team. Also no Pokemon-amie and no option for Eviolite Torkoal.
