As someone who has a living Pokedex, yes, I need about 900 boxes. I expect them to give me at least that. 180 more boxes isn't that much to ask, as long as the number of Pokemon is approaching/over 800 anyway.

I'm not going to defend jew tactics, but this is fucking ridiculous. They offer a FREE TRIAL so you can transfer all your mons from Black/Blck2 and never worry about it again. If you wish to continue using the service sure it will cost you $5. This is far better than having to have 2 3DS and games to transfer you mons to new games, that or you need a friend to do it. Either way it takes forever doing 6 at a time. Couple with the fact that they said this service will extend to new pokemon games past X and Y. So pretty much anything on the 3DS will be good.

The DS cart is actually incapable of writing to the 3DS's OS's memory, because there is no function like that in the technology for 3DS cards. They can certainly send data TO the game, ala Dream Radar and the Unova Link, but that's only because they're using the game's ability to connect and communicate with other systems.

That's how backwards compatibility works; it has the internal workings for a 3DS AND a DS built in. In other words, Unova Link works by tricking the software into thinking the 3DS is a second DS.

But it can only go one way. Notice you can never send data BACK to Dream Radar. It is physically impossible for a DS game to write to a SD card in a way a 3DS can read.

The 3DS hasn't been hacked yet (not usable by anyone yet), so you can't create new ones anew in X/Y.
Also, you can't transfer program-created pokemon, so no more cheated pokemon.
I, however, don't know if RNG pokemon will be able to be transferred or not.
