I love frenzy plant's animation compared to the others. Charizard blasts fire in all directions, Blastoise shoots a powerful beam directly at the opponent and Venusaur, the biggest and heaviest Kanto starter, hops up and tickles them with roots.

They look okay considering XY is a "rough draft" for a portable 3D pokemon game. Expect more polish in the sequel.

Yes, just like diamond and pearl were. Platinum fixed a lot of problems they had. Then they explored more with black and white
