Because if I understand Mega evolutions correctly. You can give a DW venusaur his mega-stone. Then If he's out in sunny day you can outspeed your opponent with Chlorophyll until you see a threat, use your mega transformation + attack (probably solar beam), and be transformed with Thick Fat protecting you for when your opponent gets his attack.
DW Venu + Mega stone = decent speed and s. attack for sweep, and the ability to transform and have boosted defence and defensive ability to wall.
