It doesn't use the cannon on chumps.

the real reason is that GF didn't feel like having attack animations come out from unique points from each Pokemon's body.

Let's put it simple. For a certain period of time your Pokemon will experience a change.. It may experience a drastic change (Lucario,Blaziken,Ampharos) or a simple one (Kangaskhan).

Said transformation makes it "stronger", explaining the new features. But that shit will be gone at the end of the battle so I don't see the problem...

Also.. Fuck you.. Blastoise looks great..

most megas look alright so far, but this one is unfortunately one of those i hate
i knew they were going to make some for every starter, that's not a problem, the problem is that this is too illogical

i addmitt it would probably look weird whatever they'd do with the canons, but at least it'd look better if they just made them bigger, maybe also an improvement on the shell

the one canon on the back is just a cop-out

They can easily make him angle downwards so they beam comes from the main cannon. I don't see how they can animate Gallade extending his elbows but they can't animate Blastoise's cannon.

There's like an Evolution dimension of discarded Squirtle shells and in the 1.5 seconds of Mega Evolution time (which sends Blastoise to a dimension where time flows slower), Blastoise temporarily grafts those on his wrists and uses residual special Evolution Radiation to trigger a reaction that Warp Evolves those to to mini-Blastoise shells.
