Cross-generational pokémon transfer

No.13667184 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I'm doing a new thread since the OPs of the last two ones I've seen have screwed this shit up by not presenting the argument the way it should be done.

I'd like to discuss cross-generational pokémon transfer, which has been confirmed to be a paid feature for Pokémon XY (through combined use of the Poké Transfer app [free] AND the Poké Bank app [$5/year]).

I'm not gonna say "BUT IT WAS FREE BEFORE" like other people, because it clearly wasn't free.

However, the point I want to make is this: Nintendo was COMPLETELY CAPABLE of having the cross-gen transfer (V to VI) feature be completely free. Remember, I'm NOT talking about pokémon storage, eternal pokémon to pass onto your grandchildren or any of that shit. I'm talking about this SPECIFIC feature ALONE. This COULD HAVE BEEN offered for FREE, but it was INTENTIONALLY tied in with the Poké Bank, so now all cross-gen transfers require app payment.

At this point you will refer to the "trial period". Suffice it to say that the trial period is just that, a trial period, it's not forever, and if you miss it, well, start paying up then. Some of you might say, "well, just transfer them ASAP", however, why should I rush that? And what about pokémon that I train on Gen V games AFTER the trial, and then want to bring to Gen VI?

Please don't use the "IT'S JUST $5/YEAR AND IT'S FOR MAINTENANCE, YOU POOR JEW FUCK" argument, since it doesn't apply in this case. I (and many others) as users, just care for the cross-gen transfer feature, and don't require the eternal time capsule storage B.S. (you kinda have to be an extreme case of an autist who trains pokémon competitively to the point he/she has a million fucking eggs in a million fucking boxes, to require the 3000 pokémon container app).

There ARE ways in which the cross-gen transfer could have been done without the need for the Poké Bank (and its associated money cost, whatever that amount is), and THAT fact ALONE makes payed cross-transfer inexcusable.
