Okay look, this is how it goes. You can choose to believe me or not.
* NOT ALL STARTERS WILL GET MEGA EVOLUTIONS. Only the Kanto, Hoenn, and Kalos starters will. The other two Hoenn starters (besides Torchic) will be given out via events in the future. You'll be able to Mega evolve your Kalos starter right before fighting the Elite Four.
* Cleffa, Clefairy and Clefable are now Normal/Fairy. Snubbull and Granbull are now Normal/Fairy. Kirlia and Gardevour are now Psychic/Fairy. Azurrill, Marrill and Azumaril are Water/Fairy. Igglybuff, Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff are Normal/Fairy. Mawile is Steel/Fairy. Volbeat and Illumise are Bug/Fairy. Chingling and Chimecho are Psychic/Fairy. Lumineon is Water/Fairy. Togepi is Fairy, Togetic and Togekiss are Fairy/Flying. Minccino and Cinccino are Normal/Fairy.
* There are twenty-two Mega evolutions in total and a few of them will be unavailable in-game. Sableye, Gardevoir, Steelix, Scizor, Mew, Lapras, Ditto (!) and Unown (!!) are known to Mega evolve.
