About this, have no problem paying 5$ and it will be inevitable that we'll have to pay for events and legendaries but that's not why I'm here

I'm predicting that someone is gonna make a pokemon editor like pokegen but for pokemon bank,

thoughts?

once you introduce the internet to any system it becomes infinitely easier to mess with.
Pokegen might be able to fool the 3ds into thinking it's connecting to the bank with a different server (like it did last gen with the wifi trading system) or you might be able to fool the bank into thinking your computer is a 3ds and upload a genned poke,
Who knows. We'll have to wait and see once the game and bank are released.

Most events will be via Spotpass, unless they go full-jew there is no reason not to do this. I'm sure there will still be some Gamespot-exclusive events as well.

As for DLC in general, I'm hoping that there isn't any. I don't want to spend another $40-50 on DLC just to get some additional story and Pokémon. I'd be fine with a little bit of it, say 3 to 5 DLC packs that run 99 cents each that offer interesting side-quests or maybe open a cave or two that you can explore. Anything beyond that and into iPhone game or the latest PMD territory is a no-go.

Also is this mos likely going to work like dream world? Registering the gamecard with the app and it ties in to it forever? I'm a bit wary of paying for an online service on a Nintendo device, but if Square Enix can make it work, I guess Pokemon can/will.

You know that Meloetta, Gensect and the Therian forms were well disguised cart-dlcs?

Maybe they wont use the DLCs per se but they're doing this shit since Gen 3.

Pretty much it has been like this ever since the "version exclusive" appeared, which isn't such a big of a deal if you had a friend or a relative with the other version of the game, but I guess it was a pain in the ass for those who didn't and had to buy another console and another game

Am I? You couldn't get Meloetta and Gensect in BW without buying BW2 or going into the movie release.

The Therian forms, even though is not vital in your quest of "catch 'em all" you had to own a 3DS and buy the dream radar app and catch one of them in other to unlock the mirror. I took the time to check how you could unlock the event using unconventional methods (just for the lulz of it) and the amount of locks that event has is ridiculous for what it is.
