>>13678502I'm the sort of fan who likes nearly all the designs because at least 20-30 of each gen are really really good. I'll rate them on story/villains.
Gen 1 - Casino + Silph Co + Giovanni + Gary's little meeting's and dialogue. This game was great fun. Silph Co had just an amazing feel to it.
Gen 2 - Felt a little stranger - slowpoketails made it a little darker - experiences with Lance were very good and the Goldenrod Radio station bit was brilliant.
Gen 3 - Team Aqua had an awful design, and both teams were exactly formidable or dangerous. This is when it started being about world domination, and mystic powers and stuff instead of just theft and criminal control. Didn't feel like you were taking on the pokemon mafia anymore.
Gen 4 - The worst culprit of them all. Pretty much my least favourite gen for playing through the game. Awful HM's - boring story and uninspired typing for the Elite Four (The fire guy having a medicham or something was just woeful) The enemy gave off the crazy vibe and I suppose it just seems to hit the target audience more- children.
Gen 5 - Again - I loved the new ways the E4 were tackled (one of the best e4's) , I didn't care much for the story simply because Zekrom and Reshiram were pretty boring and the story just didn't excite - however, the lack of pre-gen pokemon until post-game should have been a staple in every pokemon game and I think it's a great idea.
Gen 6 - Like and dislike some of the designs so far. Fire and Water starter's have the best designs so far but theres something about the Grass starter that makes it's final evolution so unpredictable. I like Mega Evolution's - though I wish they were only given to strong enough pokemon. Mawile and maybe Absol should have got a proper evolution as well as a Mega. I have no problem with Fairy type. I assume the story will be centred around DNA research and the like, but maybe the scientist heavy criminals (I'm assuming) might make it feel like Gen 1 and 2 again
