Why is there no way to edit Nicknames past the Name Rater?

I'm so sick of having some of my old Pokemon names be stuck in FULL CAPS

If you're playing on the actual cartridge, keep in mind that if the game gives you the "internal battery has run dry" message, it'll never occur unless you replace the battery.
