Nostalgiafag here. Been lurking around the Pokemon scene for a while now playing on Showdown and what not. I think the megas of the original Pokemon breathe life into nostalgia--they're still very much the same old Pokes we loved but freshened up a bit.

Really like some of the new designs, really hate some of the new designs. Considering buying a 2DS and XY. Froakie is almost a good enough reason for me to buy XY alone--I've never picked anything but fire starters, and he looks simply amazing.

Why are you buying XY?
