So as far as I can tell, Gallade was created to make people feel less gay about male Gardevoirs, but is it actually properly useful?

It seems to me that the Psychic portion of its dual-typing doesn't lend it any particularly good resistances, and it doesn't seem to ever be able to take advantage of Psychic STAB with the move set it has.

I might be missing information, but at the moment Gardevoir seems like the significantly better evolution.
