When I was in third grade, there was a girl that everyone hated who hated everyone back, but because I was kind of retarded back then her antics affected me more than they should've. One day she proposed a truce, and in return she would give me her holographic Articuno card. I can't remember if one of us broke the truce first or if she just decided to go back on our deal, but I ended up throwing a basketball at her face and then punching her. Which I guess was worse for her than it was for me, but I still got in a shitload of trouble.

I also used Pokemon as one of my main distractions and escapist mechanisms years later when I had anorexia, which ended up getting me hospitalized.

yes indeed we were. It was a long time ago. Circa 2006 was the "golden age" of that kind of stuff. Back when everything was fresh and /b/ wasn't complete shit. (>inb4 implying /b/ was ever good). But seriously, I remember when rage comics. Yes, even rage comics, were passed around on 4chan like crack coccaine. People couldn't get enough of them. And in a way, it was a quaint, simpler time back then. Such a shame that faggots had to reverse-engineer the flow of content from 4chan to everyone else to this state of 4chan defending against the backwash of the shit that left it years ago.

And honestly the only reason why memes are shit nowadays is because 4chan stopped stepping up to the plate like the beligerent, loveable bastard it was.

It probably will be like that again some day, when the cycle begins anew, but I really hope that day comes soon.
