ATTENTION ALL ROM HACKERS:
I have a question, if you can answer it /vp/, Arceus will shine down upon you and grant you whatever you want... whether it be a shiny, perfect IV pokemon, OR BOTH??, good porn for you, etc.

My question is, How can you make an individual trainer have his/her own battle theme? I want to insert a song when you battle a certain trainer, but when you battle the trainer, the standard battle theme plays or the rival theme plays.
This is for Emerald (E)

I know you can alter the themes of regular trainers so that they all share the same theme but im completely lost on how you can do it for an individual trainer. You would have to create your own song and then put it within the files of the other music files, but even then im not sure how to trigger the song for the individual trainer

that's the big question.
i am able to alter the general theme for lets say a gym leader or a regular trainer, but i don't know how to exactly trigger an indiviual theme for a trainer or pokemon.

i understand there are people who ROM hack here that is why I asked... thanks anon

From what I understand, you could alter the theme of an already specific trainer theme (say, N's theme or champion remixed) and just use the new one.

So:
1. Change N's Theme (n.wav or something) to what you want your Redgy OC new rival's theme to be.
2. Flag Redgy to use n.wav.
3. Flag N to use something else.

Well this is for Emerald.
I understand that FireRed music is in the files so lets say I replace... Route 3 music with a battle theme. So I could flag a specific trainer class to play that "Route 3" music?

There is no straightforward or normal way to do this. However, it isn't that hard.

There are a few tutorials on PokeCommunity on how to do this. Basically it involves compiling an ASM routine that they provide you, and then it creates a hex table where you can give certain trainer classes special themes. That's probably the best you're gonna get.

I think that's the only help I need.
Because I'm honestly just fucking around with Emerald version. I buff a couple pokemon that are useless, change a couple stats around and change movesets, etc.
This is probably the biggest stump for me. Because I already replaced some FireRed/LeafGreen music (in the Emerald files) with some music from Liquid Crystal, etc... I play it on some islands on some of the water routes but I would like to give "island trainers/swimmers" their individual themes.

I haven't ever messed around with music in Pokémon roms, but if you can give Gym Leaders and Trainers and so on their own theme, could you create a new class or edit an old class for your character and apply the theme to that?

Yes, if you use Sappy and extract and export music files from one ROM hack, you can import those music files inside of another ROM hack.

Ex: I gave the Hoenn gym leaders the gym battle theme from Liquid crystal.

If you create a new class using ATrainer, the default theme plays.

Apparently you need to check flags and do a lot of complicated stuff for this though...
