Nothing is as bad as TV-N. Translation wise, these are good, and at least they use mkv. Yeah the rest is a bit old fashioned, but they're leagues better than TV-N. And these subs are miles better than the dub.

I highly doubt the colored text has anything to do with any delays. It's all the same fonts, there are no heavily specialized styles that incorporate custom pictures, "attack animations" or anything like that, it's just a simple font with color variations for each speaker.
