First things first, we need to figure out all the meta things. A list of common factors and things we don't like about Smogon and other popular metagames (VGC, PO (pretty much Smogon but seperate), ...) and underlying ideas would be a good start, but we also need to agree on a common philosophy. Are we purely looking for fun? Are we trying to keep it as close to the games without applied hacks as possible? Are we focusing on actual competitiveness and applied strategy? Or a mix of all of those? What's the most important thing for a common battle ruleset and how do we make it as agreeable for as many players as possible?
