This isn't anything really new, since in the demo none of them ever went to battle you. But I wouldn't be surprised if we had more of those 'That's not a pokeball it's a voltorb/foongus!' type of thing, not to mention we've had to chase pokemon (like that dude's Farfetch'd in G/S) or running into legendary pokemon to make them run elsewhere like Suicune or something.
I'm still holding out onto a tiny sliver of hope that they put in your main pokemon following you as a last minute surprise. It was honestly my favorite detail of any pokemon game so far. and a new improved pokewalker
