Is it a good idea for a weather team to run a Pokemon that has an opposing weather benefit in case of weather wars?
Like running a Kabutops on a sun team. Being able to make the opponent cautious about their use of weather seems favorable, and Kabutops can even Rapid Spin.

my favorite thing to do is to run something that benefits from a weather condition that isnt mine and use it as a counter. i like to use heatran on my hail team.

I run weather less HO, but after seeing the amount of rain teams on the ladder I was actually considering adding a swift swimmer to my team, some of them are decent enough to be used in a normal battle and would wreck rain.

It's generally a good idea but Kabutops is a bad example. It's slow outside of rain and gets killed by solarbeam

Volcarona's a good example, in that it can get benefits from both weather conditions. Hurricane for rain, a fire move for sun.
