This is coming in the mail tomorrow. Will I be disappointed? I see that it got shit ratings but I liked the demo enough. I also really liked Blue Mystery Dungeon but haven't played any since.

You'll be pretty dissapointed, the game is too easy. You can now use orbs in boss battles AKA you can kill the final boss in 3 hits even underlevelled. Invest in the earlier titles instead.

Are there anymore post game towers you can climb with tons of floors and a legendary at the top? That gave Blue Mystery Dungeon lots of playability for me.

Stick with the earlier titles. I partially regret buying it, apart from the fact it was part of a club nintendo offer and I got MH3U for free after I bought it.

This, I still like it but it's casual as fuck. You have a "team move" that instantly clears monster houses and with no hunger and much faster recovery you barely ever need to use Orans.

And to balance out the negativity of the thread a bit:

The characters are WAY better than in any other title. Other characters than your companion actually gets screen time.

Companion mode is also pretty neat. Gives you the option to play as anyone in your team before you finished the game.

The game is pretty as fuck. The dungeons just look amazing.

Overall I prefer sky but Gates isn't a bad game.

Thanks anon. My hopes aren't completely shot down for this. Still looking forward to it. See a lot of people bashing the story but from what I played on the demo seems like this story is better in my opinion.

How do you feel about X/Y? I felt the same way about Black/White mostly because Diamond turned me off. I beat the gym leaders but it was such a grind to beat the elite four even more than previous games it just turned me off too much. On the other hand I'm anxiously awaiting X/Y.

As far as I'm concerned, it's the only story in PMD, and the entirety of pokemon for that matter, that was actually good.

I think the story of sky was good too, but the only character that got any screen time was your companion. If Wigglytuff, Bidoof and the others would've gotten more screentime outside of the special episodes the story would've been on par with Gates.

I wouldn't have minded so much about the companion issue, but the companion in Sky just wasn't for me. He came across as needy at times, always helping him but not giving much back, and wanting to be an explorer in a game about adventures is far from an interesting ambition.
