Can't decide what starter to pick.

It's not gonna be Chikorita, I know that for sure.

I had Totodile in my last run, and Cyndaquil is my favorite.

So I think I'll go with Cyndaquil.

I restarted the other day.
Took Chikorita, evolved to Bayleef. Getting close to that time where I'm going to give her a permanent everstone.
Also first time catching heracross early.
Mother of shit he's great vs Miltank.

At Ilex forest give a pokemon headbutt from that guy.
Then you go back to town and headbutt a tree just to the right of the bottom left.
Pretty high low level heracross chance.
I got a male in about... 6 tries?
3 females and some spearow. Dunno if daytime/night mattered.

You had the same idea as me, OP. I try to get all the rare ones in my team. Dunsparce, Heracross (it had to be male), Yanma. And also Pokemon I've never used at all, like Chinchou.

After beating the second gym, after defeating team rocket at the slowpoke well. Go to Ilex forest, catch the Farfetch'd, get Cut from owners. Use Cut to go somewhat farther in the forest and find a move tutor that teaches Headbutt. Go back to Azelea town, use Headbutt on one of the trees. With some luck a Heracross falls out, it'll be at level 5 and quite hard to catch.

The trees are (mostly) random. There will only be two trees with anything in them, but the good thing is that whenever you headbutt a tree with a pokemon in it, something will always come out. So if nothing shows up the first time, move on. Time doesn't matter.

In Azalea Town, there would be a tree that is 50% Spearow (Lv. 3-5), 20% Aipom, and 30% Heracross. The other tree is 80% Spearow (Lv. 6-8) and 20% Aipom.
