Should I do this /vp/? Does the 3D effect really has that much added value looking at the 2 games I'm planning on playing on it. X/Y don't really make use of the whole 3D thing a lot right?

Kid Icarius and Animal crossing are worth playing too- but on the subject of the 2ds-

It may or may not be made for little baby man hands to hold. It's pretty much marketed entirely towards children. also nobody uses the 3d on their 3ds

Really. 3ds has tiny buttons and the XL is way too big and not comfy at all. Why no between-model?

Coming from a guy that got to use a 2DS over the weekend, I'd say go with the 2DS if you're looking to save some money and don't care about 3D. It's small and comfortable as fuck to hold.

XL is a much better investment. 2DS is designed for children and has more downsides than just lack of 3D. I mean, the 3DS is going to be relevant for at least 5 more years which will include more pokemon games, so why not spend a little more money to get the best system?

I'll probably only play at home so I don't think I'll be needing the clamshell design. Maybe I'll play portable when I go on vacation but that's like twice a year maximum.

I'm leaning towards the 2DS more now.

I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that I've only used the 3D on the 3DS for maybe 3 minutes at the most. The whole reason I bought it months ago was so I could play X and Y, I don't give a shit about the 3D, which isn't even all that great.

The 3d has a beautiful effect in 1 title: animal crossing.

My girlfriend tried playing my XL and she said it hurt her hands because it was too big and she went back to the regular 3DS. If you have a chance to try before you buy, I would. They're pretty big.

There's a handful of 3DS games where you NEED to use the 3D, so if you don't care for them then go for the 2DS. It'll save you some money to buy more games.

Just buy a used 3DS. You can generally buy them cheaper than a new 2DS (with all the extra features to boot), so it's better in the long run.

I don't use 3D. I think it's a pretty unnecessary gimmick and it just drains the battery more on an already really short battery life.

Because it's a fucking hassle to keep yourself on the sweet spot when playing a game. I'm not going to risk anything happen to me while I'm in some tedious spot in a game, and I just so happen to tilt the 3DS ever so and fuck up the 3D.
