Probably just Froakie. I might use Torchic if XY doesn't have any other fire types I can get early.

Three starters is just too many, that's half my team taken up already.

While I originally started with Squirtle and love it, I also like all of the Kanto starters equally, so I chose based on the fact that I like Froakie the most for Gen VI.

Yes, but I figured the only reason we meet the professor early in the game is BECAUSE they give us our first Pokemon. I thought maybe we wouldn't meet them until half way through perhaps, just because we don't need a starter and getting 2 in a row might be weird. I hope not though.

If you like Dialga/Mewtwo then go right ahead. In-game Pokemon is not a game you play for the challenge unless you do something like a low-level/no evolving/battle style set/no healing/no boxing nuzlocke.

I want to know first the evos of the starters, but due to choices in previous gens, I will skip water/ice type starters this time, since Platinum was Empoleon and I am currently playing HG with Feraligatr. What is fucking me up is, since I am playing HG I had in mind that I would choose Bulbasaur and Torchic, but since Torchic will have an event for XY I don't see the point of choosing in HG. And since I never played with Bulba or Squirtle before and knowing XY will have Kanto starters as HG I was saving those each one for both games, but now I don't know what to do, specially because I think Charizard's Mega is the best one. If you think there will be a huge change with MegaBlaziken, you are delusional. Its just Blaziken with higher stats...and its DW ability. Its not something you are even gonna use all the time anyway.

I was under the assumption everyone over the age of 10 played SET anyway. Everything can be off set with grinding, but using multiple starters definitely makes the game too too easy in addition to the blandness of it all.

For my first play through I want to use the shitters, the Pokemon that are just plain awful and nobody ever wants to use. I'll be picking Chespin to go into the Bug gym at a disadvantage, then Charmander who I probably won't use if they give you his Mega Stone.

Other winners going by the Kalos dex so far include Zigzagoon, Raichu and possibly Flabebe. He especially looks like a weak little shit.

Again, who cares if it's "too too easy". Pokemon is already "too easy" to begin with. You're proving nothing by handicapping yourself by not using Pokemon the game outright gives you. It's like saying "nah, I'm not going to try fucking that 400 pound greasy fat chick, she's too easy. but that 360 pound fat chick? yeah, I'm okay with hitting that." If you really want to challenge yourself in Pokemon, go play competitively or try to get a high streak in the Battle Frontier/Subway. Otherwise, don't deride other players for being casuals, when you yourself aren't much higher on the hardcore food chain.

Nope. As long as your bond is high enough for each one, they can go MEGA. But the conditions may mean you can't just switch between them at will. Blastoise goes mega if he's sent in after a previous watermon faints. Charizard goes mega if he's the last mon standing on your team.

My first playthrough will be pure Kalos mons.
I didn't drop $80 on new pokemon games to play with old pokemon. Gen 1 starter, Event Torchick, and any other non-gen 6 Pokemon will be boxed and forgotten.

The only thing I'm worried about when it comes to new games is using pokemon I haven't used before. That said, I've used all of the old starters before and like 80 percent of the old pokemon. The only one I'd consider breaking that rule for is clefairy. If they're available in the game pre E4 I'm going to use one because they're my favorite and they'll probably become fairy type.

I believe you get the Kanto starter when you reach Lumiose City & meet Professor Sycamore in person for the first time (Tierno gives you, Calem/Serena (strong against you) and Shauna (weak against you) your starters and Trevor gives you your Pokédex)

It's confirmed you don't meet Sycamore until you get to Lumoise City, which is after the first gym, a forest, another town/garden like area, and a selection of routes. So about close to the amount of time it takes to get to Castelia, maybe less.

I'll be choosing Fennekin & Squirtle, although I won't be using Squirtle in my main team because I like sticking to just the Pokémon of the generation I'm playing unless there's no good options (why I use a Ninetales in Emerald & Clauncher is already a BAMF) or it's my second time through the region (like in White 2).
