If i was going to the nintendo world store for the midnight release, would i need to preorder it there? Do you think because of how big this launch will be they'll have enough?

I have a similar question. I pre-ordered X at Target a few days ago. How the fuck do pre-orders at Target work? I plan on leisurely going in on release day at like 12pm to get it. Are the "pre-orders" just for the pin and mean nothing else or am I actually guaranteed a game on release?
