Why doesn't the anime use level's?

Because the idea of stats and levels are pretty much stone cold retarded when seriously applied to medium outside of games. What the fuck would a level 60 even mean? What does a 300 in special attack actually symbolize? In the game, it's a mechanic that works for damage calculations, but assigning arbitrary numbers to stats serves no useful purpose in a visual medium.

OP, and everyone else. You need to realize the anime world is different from the game world. There will always be major differences and that's what makes both of them unique.

Anyways, they have mentioned level before in the anime, but in a vague manner.

The early seasons mentioned levels every now and then.

There was The School of Hard Knocks where the kid on the treadmill had to outline at which levels Pidgey evolved and learned attacks.

Also there was an episode on Johto where Ash and Misty battled over Totodile that brought up levels. Chikorita had type advantage when battling Staryu, but they noted Staryu was at a much higher level and overpowered it. The reverse happened when Misty's Poliwag went up against Ash's Bulbasaur, who had both level and type advantage, despite Poliwag evolving during the battle.

I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing Pikachu one-shot everything it battles. Sure it might not make for a very "compelling" saga, but hell Ash should be able to beat anyone with significantly less experience than him. None of that Trip, or Cameron bullshit.

one of the questions was what level pidgey evolved at, if i recall it right. forgive me if i'm wrong, though.
