His Pikachu should be able to OHKO anything in the newer regions since he has had it since fucking Kanto. But no, he is a terrible trainer and so is his Pikachu.

His IVs must be all set to 0 and the EV spread must be shit.

Wait a minute... someone should watch the show and figure out Pikachu's EVs.

Branden purposely handicapped himself to be fair against Ash, while they said in the show that Ash's win was Drake's first loss in the Orange League's history; the Orange League was clearly the bigger win.

Badges, the league, Villians and rivals push Ash through each region, all of which involve the plot. Just because it's really repetitive and shitty doesn't make it not plot-oriented.

Only in the vaguest sense. The show exists to take you around the pokemon world and what you call the plot is simply there to facilitate that. That and the crew behind the show gave up caring after the whole GS ball thing. Add to that an audience of 8 year old kids who don't value quality television and there you have it. The perpetuation of a show with no end.

That can aptly describe nearly every show that exists to primarily push merchandise (which itself is the vast majority of animated series), and there are absolutely slews of such shows that handle progression and plot better than Pokemon.

Pikachu has been unable to use Double Team since 2003 or so.

His current moveset is:

-Quick Attack
-Thunderbolt
-Iron Tail
-Electro Ball

Thunder? Nope, forgot it to learn Volt Tackle. Volt Tackle? Nope, forgot it to learn Electro Ball. Because Ash is an idiot.

Game Freak's development team doesn't care much, but Nintendo does. If they DID care, Ash would actually be progressing and his story would have an ending or at least enough development as to make him an audience-insert no longer effective. Because they care too much about it being an endless stream of money, they keep it alive.

The show doesn't work by game rules, and honestly, I can't blame them. I mean, could you fucking imagine having to work within Gen I's battle system to make a show? Game mechanics are abandoned for dramatic reasons, so a Bulbasaur would actually have a chance against an Arcanine or whatever.

Actually the gs ball was supposed to have celebi but pokemon 4ever had celebi so they had to scrap it and hoped that viewers would just forget about it
