Chespin is a non-entity as far as I'm concerned. I've never liked any of the grass-type starters except for Sceptile.
On that note, I've always been a fire starter sort of person. Charizard, Typhlosion, Emboar... they're my bros. Water was always that "neat younger cousin." I'm talking Feraligatr, Blastoise, and Samurott. I've always considered grass starters to be shit.
With that in mind, I was planning to take Fennekin as my starter. But I'm mildly displeased with its second evo. Froakie's second evo seems to take on an almost Toxicroak appearance, and Toxicroak is one of my favorite pokemon. (Imagine a Drizzletoad team with Gekogashira and Toxicroak. Fuck yeah slippery frogs)
It all boils down to the final evos for me. I picked Tepig in Gen V, then boxed him as soon as he evolved into Pignite. Then I pitied him, and evolved him and was enthralled by Emboar. I hate Tepig and Pignite, but Emboar is a fucking beast.
