What are you talking about? The one on the right even looks like the male. The one on the left has a skirt and stockings (note the purple doesn't go all the way up, it cuts off by the 'skirt'). The one on the right doesn't have that feature, and less flashy scarf, boyish hair and less fluffy/curlyness all around.

Yes but now they're not separate Pokes (took them 5 successive gens to figure this shit out).
I've always been wanting a similar system with a mosquito Pokemon, whereby the female is the outright attacker and bloodsucker while the male is a more defensive pollinator - that's just me adhering to nature though, can't have that logic leaking into Pokemon now.

The difference is that Plusle, Minun, Volbeat and Illumise are all different pokemon.
These two are the same species, only they learn different moves as they level up.

.....Why am I not surprised that they made the numbering system more useless if this is true? The only thing that separated them as pokemon was having different movepools, but if the two genders can have different things now, then Nido and everything like it can no longer even remotely be separate. The whole point of the Pokedex is to categorize Pokemon. You have two different things being identified by the same information. That's just bad categorization. If I say a Pokemon's name and ID number there should be zero ambiguity as to which Pokemon I am referring to. That is the entire point of Names and ID numbers.
