I don't see why that'd be a problem. Every Pokemon after them would just be one number lower in the national dex. Gen 1 fags would bitch and moan, but they'd get over it.

It doesn't make sense that these two are the same Pokemon and the Nidorans aren't.

They're both called Nidoran and look more similar than these do. Sure they have different BST/distribution and different movepools, but these cats have different movepools and I bet that the base stat distribution will be different too.
There is literally no excuse to have two different Nidorans any more. Just move all the dex numbers above down by one, skip the number or slot something new in there.

NidoranF can breed a NidoranM, you know.

The only reason they're different is because they came in Gen 1, before gender differences. If they were made after they were introduced, Nidoran F and M would be the same pokemon and Nidorina/Nidoran/Nidoqueen/Nidoking probably wouldn't have been things.
