The part about Gogoat isn't wrong.

He said "you can only ride around Lumiose City on a Gogoat", not "Gogoat is the only pokemon in the game you can ride." Skiddo and Gogoat are the same species.

It's worded ambiguously but it's not wrong.

Kind of.

The thing is, the japanese love their english (and other language) puns, and so when translating japanese names for pokemon, there's the possibility that either the name is plain japanese and contains those meanins, or its a romanisation of english words.

It can get quite confusing when you're working by name alone.

It seems to point to Chespin being armored (assuming it's Brigadine and not Brigand) and Froakie being a ninja.

As far as i'm concerned, Chespins going to be a Steel/Grass Knight or a Fighting/Grass Warrior.

Froakie's going to be a Fighting/Water Ninja or a Dark/Water Thief.

Fennekin's looking to be a Psychic/Fire Mage, possible a Fairy/Fire witch.

If they're Pure Type, they're all boxed.

Could be both, just like if Chespin's a Knight, he could be both.

All typing looks fit into the starter evolution triangle, either way, especially now that Dark isn't weak to Steel.

Personally i'm betting on

Grass/Fighting Knight
Water/Dark Ninja
Fire/Psychic Witch

Types match perfectly AND it matches the Warrior/Thief/Mage RPG triad.

Yep, dual type moves is a thing. I am hyped. I guess that'll be the only other big suprise of the generation, but man this gen has changed the game mechanics a lot. New type, dual moves, mega evos. Its fukken huge.
