just because it doesnt have wings doesnt make it not a manticore. from what it looks like, it still has the tail. i'd say its still somewhat safe to assume that it will have some inspiration from the manticore, whether it be through poison type, poison type moves, or just a scorpion tail.

Axew was revealed with several pokemon like Patrat & Woobat.

Haxorus was revealed with Cofagrigus, Galvantula, Excadrill, Drillbur, Reuniclus, Gothitelle & Gigalith on Oha Suta.

Fraxure was never revealed formally. It was just discovered when the games came out.

I didn't expect Litleo's evolution to look this good. It seems to be loosely based on a manticore,but without going overboard retarded with the wings. Also the design seems to reference medieval shield/crest design which ties in with the lions=symbol of royalty belief.
