It's a pistol shrimp. Pistol shrimp are known for the immense heat that there claw snapping can produce. It's not too hard to believe that clauncher could be our first Water/Fire pokemon.

Yes, the cavitation bubble generated by the pistol shrimp's attack technically produces a high temperature, but that's *inside* the bubble, which never makes contact with the shrimp's prey. And in terms of absolute amounts of heat generated, it's fucking nothing compared to water's ability to absorb heat.

It's the shockwave from the rapid thrust that stuns/kills the prey, the light/heat produced is a noteworthy but ultimately useless side effect.

Please learn some science before trying to justify this shit.
