So, I started a Sapphire Nuzlocke with Torchic the other day, first time I got nothing that would be good against Roxanne, and she creamed me.
Second time I was in the same situation and had to grind my Torchic until it evolved and over grinding obviously makes the game too easy.
Is there a solution for Roxanne with Torchic that does not involve grinding when all you are getting is Zigzagoons and Wurmples?

It's 16 when it evolves and learns double kick.
It certainly felt like it made the game trivial after that, but I donno, if that is the only good answer I guess I just won't use torchic in future non-random runs.

I forgot to update the badges image for the last update because Ive beaten drayden beforehand.

Mamoswine, Machamp, Crobat, Accelgor(If you're willing to catch a Karrablast for evolution and release immediately after), Torterra would make a pretty good team. Also Darmanitan/Charizard aren't bad.
