pokemon even slightly updates once every 3 years or so with things that entirely change the game around. Unless Fifa starts adding Mario Strikers style flaming balls or some shit, it's just barely rendered faces on the same glitchy field with the same models rearranged to have slightly different stats. At the very least Pokemon lets you control some more of that with moves and abilities.
And that's still absolutely no reason to be on top of GTA5, Rayman Legends, Wonderful 101, Assassin's Creed Pirates, and Saint's Row 4, none of which even slightly have an argument for the same update style as Pokemon.
