Hari meaning "needle". The word for hedgehog is "Harinezumi". "Marron" is French for chestnut. Even when we take its name from other languages, parts of the name or similar sounding names all translate into hedgehog.
French = Marisson, from the word "Herisson" which means Hedgehog. "Marron" for chestnut.
German = Igamaro, from "Igel" which means hedgehog. "Maron" = chestnut.
Korean = Dochimaron, derived from the words 고슴도치 goseumdochi (hedgehog), 침 (針) chim (needle), and marron (dat French again).
