Do MegaEvolutions mean that we're not getting new evolutions for past generation Pokemon anymore? Because we haven't seen any announced yet.

That would suck.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK there weren't any crossgen evos in Gen V. I'd wager they're done with them, especially after the assload we got in Gen IV. Sylveon excepted, of course.

Mega Evolution is the thing for this region. This does not mean it will continue past this gen. Might be light on true evos for previous mons this gen but I am quite sure this will return to normal next time around.

Gen V just felt like it had a lot of cross-gen evos going in, maybe gamefreak decided not to at the last minute, that'd explain bouffalant and alomomora or whatever
