It's got such a small amount of "legendary" in it, and even has a gender.
I'd be okay if it was like Volcarona, where it was revered, but being a straight up legendary makes little sense.

Regigigas would've been alright if it wasn't so underplayed and tacked on. Manaphy, and especially Phione were kinda shitty. Also wasn't a fan of meloetta as a legendary..

Pretty pointless. They are bigger samefags than the Kamis, have no lore, no backstory, nothing.

They are just there so that you can catch something after the league.

Regarding Heatran, personaly I like to consider him a Pseudo-legendary like Garchomp. Altough he had a better sidequest than most legendaries anyway

I agree though pokemon that don't have anything to do with the story or aren't even mentioned in game at all then just have an event where they sit in a reskinned room and you fight them ten catch them then nothing are a waste of time.

arceus is said in every pokedex entry to have "shaped the world" and in some entries to have been "born before the universe existed" this, for all intents and purposes fits the idea of a pokemon god, its probably just bad timeline management by nintendo

its been said to emerge from an egg before the universe began, and formed the earth, the creation trio and the lake trio, also the only reason he is as much a pokemon as magikarp and sunkern is because he is obtainable in the game

i think a vaguely accurate idea would be to classify the legendary pokemon as not created by mew and more like a different set of being all together

Manaphy and Phione. They have no story, no "legend". And I don't mean relevance to the story of a game like some assholes were trying to argue earlier, but that they simple do not have a story. Even Pokemon like the Latis that have no real legends to them have qualities that make them "feel" like legends (my own gut feelings if nothing else). Manaphy and Phione are just there.

Phione is particularly worthless. Any redeeming shred of value of Legendary status that Manaphy has it lacks almost completely.. Its only claim to fame is its ability to breed and be bred. Which is pretty much like saying it's a dirty slut that only exists to be fucked and make babies.

Actually wait, I take that all back, Phione deserves to be recognized as a legendary since it is the embodiment of the majority of my preferred fap material I search for on exhentai.

If there are 500,000,000,000,000 Pokemon in total, then yeah, still legendary. Sure, Sinnoh had a lot of fucking legendaries, but in general the ratio of legendary pokemon to regular pokemon is pretty damn low.

Generally legendary pokemon are either one of a kind or so rare they might as well be one of a kind, and powerful to boot. Even non-legendary pokemon that are considered rare like clefairy or chimeco any trainer can find and catch with just an ounce of patience. It takes a special type of trainer to get their hands on a legendary pokemon, you'll never see Bug Catcher Billy running around with a Genesect.
