so what would a normal/ghost type look like? i'm thinking it would just be a typical humanoid-form ghost... which is not a bad thing.

Probably, yeah. Normals tend to be pretty Earth-like creatures. Maybe about as human-looking as Meloetta, or even your standard "covered by a white sheet" ghost.

I think the game mechanics would shit itself trying to figure that out.

what if it had an ability where just for shits and giggles came out as the trainer... which in turn could give it some sort of perk... not sure what but having the trainer fight would be awesome.

that's perfect

or it could come out as the OPPOSING trainer so we'd have more chances to see back sprites (dat ass) and it would make the opponents pokemon not want to attack it

It still doesn't stop Gamefreak from making a normal creature with control over electricity electric/normal.
