Gen I was the worst gen of them all.....
>Graphics sucked
>Music was like something from a bad NES game
>The sprites were terribly designed
>there was only 151 pokemon
>No running shoes
>only a handful of legendary pokemon
>Overly simple battle and leveling mechanics
The gen as a whole was a failure, the series only got good with the release of diamond and pearl, dem 3D graphics.
