its one move and it was barely even show cased get over it. I know some of WPMs rumors had minor things wrong with them just being the type chart that doesn't mean that the starter evos will be wrong especially not fennekins.

Why? It's confirmed to know three Psychic moves, one of which only Psychic types have gotten by level up, and zero Fairy ones. Plus the leak even says it's Psychic. It's going to be Psychic. Witches use magic, and some Magic powers include psychic powers. Holy shit, people.

Goes against the leak, and if you're trying to make a reverse triangle, it doesn't work because Steel is neutral against Fire/Fairy.

Fairy hasn't even shown to be magic out of Sylveon, Xerneas (life), Dedenne, Flabebe (flower spirit), Swirlix, Spritzee, Marill (moon rabbits) or Jigglypuff

Gardevoir is the only one that has any 'magic' links and surprise surprise its partially Psychic

Abra's family, the definitive Psychic type is based on magicians

Fairy will be fey spirits, lunar phenomena (due to Japanese myths/folklore), and emotional/love based pokemon

But Frogadier looks like a ninja, which are associated with trickery, stealth, and underhanded techniques.

They seem to have a knight/witch/ninja theme going, so clearly it'll be Grass/Fighting, Fire/Psychic. and Water/Dark.

Why do people think magic = fairy?

Fairies are nature spirits, not wizards.

If anything, magic suggests psychic even more. Psychic types Alkazam, Sigilyph, and Reuniclus learns MAGIC Guard, Xatu and Espeon learn MAGIC Bounce, and the moves MAGIC Coat and MAGIC Room are psychic type.

In DnD, there's arcane magic (used by sorcerers, wizards, bards, etc) and divine magic (used by clerics, paladins, druids, etc).

Psychic types are wizards.

Fairy types are druids.

Psychic implies the pokemon has telekinetic powers. Fairy implies the pokemon bears some relation to a supernatural or mythical being.

A witch fits the Fairy-type better than the Psychic-type. However, I imagine that Fairy pokemon will learn some Psychic moves in the same way that some Water pokemon learn Ice moves.

This make no sense at all and doesn't work both ways.

Steel does x1.5 damage to fire, so the damage to a fire/fairy would only be neutral and I doubt they would give fire a 4x advantage against the grass starter either. Fennekin will end up being Fire/Psychic.

no it doesn't. Water is SE against ground, but Ground would still deal x2 damage to Water/Steel

No it doesn't. Nowadays people think witch means "female magic user", but in pagan beliefs witches are mortal humans who sold their soul to a demon in order to gain magical powers. It has nothing to do with a nature spirit, nymph, or dryad.

If the guy is going to correct me and suggest it's a grenadier and not brigadier, then obviously he's referring to grenade throwing and sneaky assaults. Otherwise it's the same as brigadier in terms of meaning and it helps my point.

Dark has gained a weakness to fairy but lost its not very effective against steel. That certainly raises some potential for dark as an attacking type in some situations.

Additionally, even though dark will see some pressure from new fairy types popping up, it will see decreased competition from fighting, its previous greatest weakness. Bugs are less of an issue because bugs tend to be fragile to ice, which is common on water types.

So a water/dark pokemon could be quite good as a speedy attacker if done right, in all likelihood.

Yeeeeah, I dunno about this one. It's pretty contrary to the leaked info (which has had a nearly spotless record so far), and I'm not so sure about a Fairy type learning so many psychic moves. Unrelatedly, Froakie and Frogadier are pretty much confirmed to be ninjas at this point. I agree with the origin of the names, but we're almost without question getting a knight / wizard / ninja trio.
