It was par-for-the-course, as far as I'm concerned.
Still, if Game Freak intended to reference the DB saga with this whole Mewtwo Mega Form thing, I must say that I'm quite impressed with them.
I didn't really like the Y Megatwo (but I like X) at first but now that I understand that it was supposed to reference Majin Buu, I'm perfectly happy with the design.
If it was unintentional, then really, step it up, Game Freak. (But I'll still just pretend they intended to reference it)
