OKay, so here's my explanation for the whole dark type thingy for Pangoro and possibly the Chespin final evolution, since one fights injustice and the other is apparently going to be a Paladin.

What if they do it not because of anything other than their own morality? What if Pangoro for example isn't protecting the weak because of some higher moral ethical thing, he just doesn't like that shit going on and that's it?

The dark type comes from the fact that the honorable traits come simply from them using their power to make their own morality count using brute force, their morality just so happens to be what most people would consider honorable, but looking deeper into it actually gives it a spin.

Of course I might just be an overthinking faggot, but until we have more info I think it's a neat headcanon
