Nope, he just doesn't have literal hardware limitations any more. He could draw Zinogres for Pokemon and it could make it into the game with ease.

specifically the spikes on Mega Garchomp will always look better in 3d, since otherwise it looks painted on. I don't think there's a way to avoid that for Sugimori.
