Iris didn't have a real team and was stuck with a forever mascot baby. I know people can fawn over Dawn and May but they're coordinators, not battlers and it's insulting seeing how Ash had more experience as a battler and still loses at least one battle against either of those two.
I want Serena to be on a level similar to Paul but more friendly. I want her to win with actual strategy and not because "she's a girl, let's let her have this one." like the other girls. Fuck that, I want to see Serena be a mini-Cynthia in training. Have her EARN her place for effectively defeating Ash or making him dig deep for better strategies to consider.
That's how you do a REAL female rival, not some politically correct, handholding, dumb luck bullshit on the writer's part.
