Pokemon The Series XY Discussion

Hey guys, so lets all throw those frowns upside down and be happy that unlike BW's hour special, there is an extreme lack of colorful-dimension scenes/stock footage. Had it been in BW or even DP, that Garchomp scene would've just been it using the same attack footage with it making contact with some random buildings.

Also, I'm seriously surprised no one has brought this up. Usually, Ash's rivals in the anime are exclusive anime characters and/or one or two in-game characters. And Ash is still by himself in that scene with the Mega Blaziken, so its highly likely that this is at the beginning of the first episode, right after he gets off at the airport. Then, in that scene in CoroCoro, Mega Blaziken is standing near some man with a shroud, and unlike what some people think, he doesn't look like any of the revealed Team Flare characters.

So what if, now bear with me, what if that man is one of Ash's new rivals in this saga, and instead of Ash facing off against some new trainer and losing instantly because of some kind of reset, what if Ash's first RIVAL battle in Kalos is against this Mega Blaziken trainer. So then, there would be a good touch of continuity, because Pikachu wouldn't have been reset and would be able to carry on the power it had from Unova to here. So if Ash loses to this trainer, it wouldn't cause as much of an outrage because he'd be losing to an experienced trainer like Paul, and Pikachu would be losing to a Mega Pokemon, which is basically a Legendary version of a regular Pokemon.

Would your opinions change now that Ash and Pikachu wouldn't have reset?
