>>13828794Incorrect. The real reason is because they were weak to really common offensive moves like Earthquake, Surf, and Rock Slide. There were plenty of Fire-types that got STAB off their highest stat like Ninetales, Blaziken, Charizard, Camerupt, Houndoom, and Typhlosion.
Removing Stealth Rock won't save Fire-types. The real solution would be to drastically reduce how many Pokemon get access to Earthquake/Rock Slide/Stone Edge. Of course, Gamefreak would never do that and Smogon certainly wouldn't, so 99% of fire-types are doomed to never reach OU.
