They had mentioned one year passing twice before, and that didn't stop them from doing the ten years old stuff in BW.

They might add another "one year passing", but they likely won't mention his age, unless it's to say that he's ten again.

IIRC, once it was the first time Ash returned to Pallet. There was an anniversary for Ash's journey. The second time was near the ending of the original "Pokemon" series.

And Team Rocket also made some vague references to running after Pikachu for years at times, although that's different from the actual fixed dates mentioned above.

I like the animation style of X/Y so far.

Shame they probably went and blew all of the animation budget on the first two episodes at least, and that quality will only degrade with time. Ash's X/Y design is rather neat.
