>>13831924>>13831990I think it's exactly the opposite. If this happens soon, even if they're donwloads and not in the base game at all, it'll be seen as rip off. They ripping content out of the game to sell to people.
Also, I really doubt they'd just "sell" Pokemon. Look at their Fire Emblem DLC for comparison. You buy a new chapter with a new character (and new skill/class sometimes too), not just the character by itself. And you only get the character after playing through the new chapter. I'd expect something similar in Pokemon if they eventually go for DLC.
So, it wouldn't be selling Pokemon for 0,99, it'd be something like "New unexplored island!" or "Team something invasion event!" - a new area or in game story events/battles that would result in the player gaining access to a new Pokemon.
Pokemon distribution by itself certainly will continue to be free, since they want to avoid appearing like they're cutting things.
