This. I'm so-so with the idea of Mega Evolutions, but Mega Mewtwo is just so...unnecessary.

What was Mewtwo in the original games? The epitome of power and a fear-inducing sight.
These new forms are just like...defacing him. Like he really needs another form to wreck with.

That's what I wanted and speculated about when "Newtwo" was first revealed.
I guess they didn't want to screw with the continuity or something (though the Mega Ring would provide a p good reason as to why the Gene didn't Megaevolve it before)
