Now that the type chart has been somewhat retconned, are there any more really fantastic coverage options? Think like what Dragon/Fire, Electric/Ice, and Ghost/Fighting were. Also, are any of the old combinations no longer as good? Like how Dragon/Fire is now completely walled by Fairy/Water and Fairy/Rock.

Fairy/Ghost is only resisted by the Pyroar Family and hits Dragon, Fighting, Dark, Psychic, and Ghost Super Effectively.

Fairy/Dark has absolutely perfect coverage.

Oh yeah, that's right. I think that Fairy/Steel and Fairy/Poison are the only combos that resist Fairy/Dark. Still, really good coverage.

That actually does resist Fairy/Dark. But still, it's one Pokemon.

Normal/Poison & Normal/Steel don't exist yet to resist Fairy/Ghost so those two /Fairy combos are very promising.

As of this juncture, you're correct. Or Poison/Dark with levitate. The only way to have no weaknesses whatsoever is to have an ability that does it.

Ghost/Fighting is still perfect, unless they add a Normal/Ghost

Ghost/Normal is only resisted by Tyranitar and Bisharp, plus Normal/Ghost, Normal/Rock, Normal/Steel, Normal/Dark if they ever exist.

Ghost/Flying is only resisted by those two and Helioptile, plus Normal/Rock, Normal/Steel and Dark/Electric.

Ghost/Dragon can't hit Jigglypuff and is resisted by Bisharp, plus Normal/Steel and Dark/Fairy

Basically, Ghosts win Gen VI.

Ghost is overall the strongest type, now. Dragon and Steel are still really good, but not as good as before.

I believe Steel/Ghost, even after the Steel nerf, resists the most typing with 12 resistances and immunities total.

Steel and Steel/Fairy are tied with 11 resists each.

The total number doesn't matter much since it's all based on the context of a battle. Steel/Ghost it good, but it won't help you against Rain's Water-/Electric-spam like Steel/Grass would.
