Well for those who DO use fire, flying, bug, or ice types it takes away 25-50% of their health every single time they get sent out. With a limited amount of pokemon who are actually usable knowing rapid spin its a little too broken for my tastes.

I hated the Mystery Dungeon games and was so relieved when I beat it so I could admit I gave it a chance and still hate it.

I think /vp/ is one of the better boards. Others are gay, boring, full of angry neckbeards, or just incredibly slow. /vp/ is probably the lesser of the other evils and more entertaining.

The Anime sucks.

I want to punch everyone who goes on to tell me why a Pokemon MMO is a great idea.

I flat out do not like the fairy type. Completely unappealing designs (Xerneas aside, but why is he fairy?) and while nerfing fighting/dragon and buffing poison was cool, nerfing dark/bug and buffing fire was not

The eeveelution gimmick had already outstayed it's welcome in gen 2 if you ask me, and gen 4 onwards, they were flat-out dex-fillers in my eyes. And worst of all, the designs for them are just kind of boring.

Sylveon is the worst pokemon ever designed. Horribly aesthetically, continuing on a gimmick that should have been dropped and for the herald of the fairy type, it looks fuck all like a fairy. And before you say muh edgy fairies, look at all the fairy types so far - 'cute' and pink and stuff.

There has been only one story ever done in the entire pokemon franchise that was good, and not just good by pokemon standards. OP's pic related.

I have no problems with the supposed linearity of the 5th gen games

I only play OU.
I started with Gen 2 but Gen 3 is still my favorite.
I like the french horns in Gen 3 music.
I'm not liking any of the mega evolutions so far.
I actually still care about Oorooto.
I basically only play Showdown anymore, as gen 5.5 has become stale for me.

-I think Ruby/Sapphire are the worst in the series. I hate Hoenn, I hated the pacing of the games, the graphics look pretty bad (FRLG/E fixed that a little) I hated the Pokemon that were introduced that generation and find about 90% to be useless. Emerald does fix quite a bit, but still has issues. I do not understand why people want remakes so bad when they are a gigantic mess that feels like it was thrown out way too early to get the GBA sales.

-Gen V and its games are pretty meh. I like the Pokemon OK, but Unova was disappointing and they removed way too many features from gen 4 for gimmicky alternatives (Dream World was stupid as shit).

-I really like the concept of Mega evolutions, but hate that they are not permanent and that some Pokemon are getting them that need a evolution instead. They should only be for Pokemon that have already evolved twice.

I agree anon. But what's even worse in my opinion is that Eevee and it's evolutions are so fucking popular when they're shit for the most part.

Onto my opinions.
I Really like all the gen V pokemon and a few of them are in my top 6.
I really like the idea of Fairy types.
I hate how everyone on /vp/ seems to be obsessed with pokemon that still have a chance of getting an evolution, getting a mega evolution instead.
And I like previous gen pokemon getting evolutions as dex filler.

I think the anime is fine as it is.

IVs are a great idea in theory, but the obsession with having perfect or near-perfect IVs has ruined an awesome system.

I think type immunities are a bullshit idea. I'd much rather we have no immunities and just resistances.

As much as I dislike genwunners, I think the anti-genwunner brigade has become a hundred times worse on /vp/.

Cheating is only rampant because of IVs. They have no impact on non competitive play and cause utter chaos for competitive play. If they didn't exist casual players would never know and competitive players wouldn't have to cheat or waste 1000 hours just to play competitive.

Anyway. I think catching them all is still my favourite part of the franchise and remains relevant. The revival of the catchphrase excites me.
